In 2024, China's smart homes will have 100 million voice assistants.

According to Juniper Study's latest research results, the use of voice assistants in smart homes in China will reach 100 million by 2024, up from just four million in 2019.

In a statement, Juniper Research attributed the rise to the low cost of smart speakers. It also mentioned that Chinese companies like iFlytek, Baidu, and Huawei are creating more powerful voice assistants.

However, given security concerns about Huawei in the United States, "Chinese influence will be restricted to the domestic market."

"The sensitive position of voice assistants means that if they are released in Western markets, they will become a focal point of worry, limiting their total potential."

According to a new study titled "Smart Homes: Strategic Opportunities, Business Models, and Competitive Landscape 2019-2024," voice assistants are becoming an increasingly important element in the smart home.

Voice assistants provide interoperability platforms that enable seamless control of the entire smart home.

Meanwhile, according to the latest data, Amazon is the market leader in voice assistants, owing to enhanced hub capabilities in the Echo Plus, major investment from its Alexa Fund, and Alexa Skills access, which allows for a large third-party app ecosystem.

Recent high-profile acquisitions like Blink, Ring, and eero, according to Juniper Research, will boost the company's capacity to innovate throughout the smart home.

Google, on the other hand, will use its Nest acquisition to introduce Assistant to a new range of devices, such as the Google Nest Hub Max, revolutionizing its smart home offering.

"We believe Google's AI investment will enable it to offer more intelligent and autonomous services, giving it a compelling differentiation.

" The Juniper statement said "It should augment this with considerable investment in partnerships to further expand its ecosystem."
